Drivers through the Five Cities may notice a smoother ride along North Oak Park Boulevard.

After eight months of closures, reconstruction of a 0.6 mile stretch of the highly-traveled road is now complete and the road is open again.

The cities of Grover Beach, Pismo Beach and Arroyo Grande collaborated on the project through San Luis Obispo Council of Governments.

The road was resurfaced and sidewalk improvements were made at several intersections. A state grant funded the $2 million project.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the project’s completion will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the corner of Oak Park Blvd and El Camino Real in Arroyo Grande.
