Overview

The Homewood Suites is located on a 3.14-acre site on Liberty Park Drive and Mill Rock Way in the City of Bakersfield. This all-suite residential-style hotel was designed for guests who travel on field assignments, relocate to a new community, attend seminars, conventions or corporate training programs, and leisure travelers on vacation or attending family events. Homewood Suites hotels feature such amenities as spacious one-bedroom, two-bedroom and/or studio suites with fully-equipped kitchens, and daily complimentary hot breakfasts.

Cannon was selected to provide civil and structural engineering, surveying, and permitting services for this new hotel. The scope of work included analysis of the City’s General Plan and Zoning Ordinance; site selection; descriptions and exhibits for the Certificate of Compliance lot merger; a boundary survey and topographic survey; a development plan; plans and specifications for grading, drainage, utilities, street improvement and parking lots; conditional use permit processing and representation through the City approval process; as well as construction staking.
