Cannon was hired by the City of Paso Robles to develop a planting plan for their new state-of-the-art wastewater treatment facility. The design integrated tough, low maintenance plants that would adapt well to the Paso Robles climate and existing mature Coast Live Oaks surrounding the facility. The landscape also needed to incorporate low impact development (LID) stormwater site features. Cannon’s design provided the client with a highly drought tolerant landscape comprised primarily of native species with select non-native succulent plantings located at focal points. In addition to the planting plan, Cannon provided technical guidance to the client for the establishment of native meadow buffer zones where the existing understory areas were impacted by site construction activities.
