← Back to Vandenberg AFB Water System – Replace SCADA

Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) lost communication between the San Antonio Plant and the Main Reservoir due the existing fiber-optic cable being damaged and incapable of communication. VAFB contracted Smith Electric Services to replace the communication link between the San Antonio Plant and the Main Reservoir. Smith Electric Services selected Cannon to team with them on this project.

A new direct burial six –strand single-mode rodent-resistant armored fiber-optic cable to replace the existing damaged cable was installed by Smith Electric Services.

Cannon’s scope of work was to provide SCADA programming to test and validate reliable communication between the two sites; provide reliable data from all the water treatment systems to the San Antonio Plant. Integrate MicroClor system to the SCADA system at the San Antonio Plant and the Main Reservoir; provide two new wall-mount SCADA monitors at the San Antonio Plant. These monitors will serve as an extension of the existing HMI workstation, similar to the main Reservoir.
