Water Supply

← Back to Arsenic Mediation Project, Water Production Facility, Phase I

Several wells within the City of Delano’s water system were found to have unacceptable arsenic levels. To alleviate this situation and improve the available potable water supply, the City drilled seven new domestic water wells. Cannon provided topographic survey, record data boundary and utility research; as well as design and construction phase support services for the pump, motors, necessary electrical equipment, and discharge piping to connect to the existing water distribution system. The scope of services included site work, a well enclosure building, grading, drainage, paving, sewer main, and storm drain design. Cannon coordinated the design of a sodium hypochloride disinfection system as well as the well design with the City’s hydrogeologist for the 150 horsepower, 1,000 gpm pumps and motors. Cannon prepared construction documents including bid documents and construction cost estimates and provided construction support services for two wells. The remaining five wells were designed at various stages of completion.
