← Back to Celite Celpure Expansion

A Central Coast-based diatomaceous earth mining operation was in the process of expanding its existing facility. To accomplish this, the company would need to upgrade its electrical system. This required a new 750 KVA pad mounted transformer and Motor Control Center (MCC) to supply the new loading required in the expansion. Cannon was selected to design the electrical system needed for this new equipment and subsequent loading, as well as the foundations needed to set the new transformer and MCC. The facility’s existing 12 KV feeder network transformed to 480 VAC for primary motor load; the 750 KVA added roughly 350 horsepower in new motor loads, which will double the loading so significant future expansion is available and will be accounted for in the Motor Control Center via spare circuit breakers and controllers.
