← Back to Crockett Cogen Plant Fuel Gas Compressor

The goal for this project was to provide a fuel gas compressor which will improve gas delivery pressure to PG&E customers during peak demand times. The catalyst for this project was a pipeline breach to the natural gas supply, which subsequently reduced operating pressure of PG&E’s natural gas supply lines in the surrounding area. During normal demand periods, this lower delivery pressure was satisfactory. During peak demand times, however, a boost in pressure was required. Cannon assisted in providing the specifications and locating the compressor and designed the foundation for the compressor skid, the soft start motor controller for the 1,200-hp drive, and the sound-retarding compressor enclosure, the movable crane rails. Cannon also rerouted existing pipelines and routed the new gas line.
