Ideally located in the heart of Southern California between Los Angeles and San Diego, Irvine is surrounded by major freeways. To continue to provide the necessary traffic flow, the City of Irvine undertook an a major infrastructure improvement project at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Main Street to enhance traffic flows by adding a fifth northbound and southbound lane on Jamboree Road between the I-405 and Kelvin Avenue.
Cannon provided professional engineering services for the preparation of construction contract documents. These services included the following: street improvement plan and profile; ADA sidewalk and curb ramp design; storm drain and flood control channel modifications; right-of-way (ROW) engineering, including title reports, mapping & legal descriptions, and ROW acquisition maps.
Cannon also provided the following services: retaining wall plan and profiling, earthwork grading plans, landscape planting/irrigation plans, construction details, traffic signal modification, striping and signing plans, traffic stage construction plans, wet and dry utility coordination/ mapping, hydrology and hydraulics; WQMP/SWPPP, IRWD water facility design; environmental compliance and water quality documentation, and specifications and construction cost estimates.
Cannon’s surveying services on this project included GPS and boundary control; boundary and right-of-way analysis; detailed topographic mapping of all infrastructure and improvements; aerial topographic mapping; right-of-way acquisition legal descriptions, plats, and exhibits, and existing cross section creation.Back to Service
