Over the last weekend of September, Cannon’s group of cycling enthusiasts – also known as the Cannon Coasters – covered over 160 miles along the breathtaking California State Highway 1. Starting their three-day adventure in Point Reyes Station, they pedaled 50 miles to Mill Valley on day one. The second day saw a 64-mile journey from Mill Valley to Santa Cruz, while the third and final day comprised a 33-mile stretch from Santa Cruz to Marina State Beach. Throughout their expedition, the Coasters were accompanied by Support and Gear (SAG) vehicles carrying essentials such as baggage, spare bikes, emergency supplies, and provisions.

The route posed its share of challenges– including the hilly terrain along Highway 1, creating a steep and narrow journey. Despite cloudy skies and low visibility on the first two days, the riders persevered and eventually were welcomed with sunny skies on the final, 30-mile stretch.

Cannon Coasters is an offshoot of Loose Cannons, an in-house group of staff members and their friends and family who participate in extreme sports and recreational activities together. Along with the annual Cannon Coaster ride, other events they take on include the California Death Ride and Mojave Death Race.
