William and Linda Frost Center for Research and Innovation
The Frost Center for Research and Innovation is a largely donor-funded, multi-college project between the Colleges of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences and of Science and Mathematics. Cannon, partnered with ZGF Architects, is providing civil engineering services for the new structure, which filled one of the last remaining open areas within the campus core. The new, four-story 100,000 square-foot building will sit opposite the Warren J. Baker Center for Science and Mathematics.
Important engineering features of this design includes the tie-in of the proposed site improvements to existing adjacent building sites and entrances, analysis of capacity of existing campus sewer system, and reroute of existing building sewer and high voltage power. It also includes integration and sizing of stormwater management features within tight site constraints and a remote grease trap with a heat-traced drain line from the culinary suite.
