Biological Science Unit III
This $77 million-project involved the addition of a 146,000 square-foot biological sciences building to the Physical Sciences Quadrangle on the University of California Irvine Campus. The facilities included a 20,000 square-foot animal facility and a 400-seat auditorium.
Cannon’s civil engineering design and survey services included topographic survey; horizontal control plan; construction survey; and plans and specifications for on-site grading, drainage, water, sewer, storm drain, dry utilities, relocation of existing utilities, and demolition.
The design-build delivery method required fast-track design and construction engineering support. Cannon worked with the project architect to obtain project plan approvals from the Division of the State Architect.
