City of Tukwila Public Works Administration Building

The City of Tukwila Public Works Department is planning to build a new public works facility on a 13-acre site along the Duwamish River. Cannon was selected to provide civil engineering for grading, paving, stormwater, and utility designs from preliminary planning through final design and construction administration services. The project included combining two shoreline parcels. As a result, Cannon developed a creative plan for grading, storm drainage and sanitary sewer services. Cannon coordinated closely with the project architect, owner, and landscape architects to complete the designs. The design had to meet “Enhanced Basic Treatment” requirements for all storm runoff. In addition, the team incorporated low impact stormwater design elements compatible with, and to help protect the shoreline restoration portion of the project on the Duwamish River.
