Oceanfront Dinosaur Caves Park

The 11-acre Dinosaur Caves Park is one of the few bluff-top public parks in the Central Coast of California. Located directly adjacent to both the Pacific Ocean and California Highway 101, it features spectacular ocean views. This open space park includes pedestrian and bike trails, viewpoints, scenic vistas, picnic and play areas, an amphitheater, and a wedding overlook plaza. Cannon was selected by the City of Pismo Beach to provide the planning, engineering, and surveying for this project. The project included research of the site history; preparation of base map; preparation of environmental documents; and preparation and presentation of staff reports to City agencies. The scope also included two community workshops held to develop an ongoing public involvement program for design of the park. Cannon prepared topographic and boundary surveys, dimensioned site plans, grading/drainage plans, street improvement plans, and a utility plan.
