Newport Beach Concrete Streets Repairs

The City of Newport Beach selected Cannon to provide civil engineering and survey services to reconstruct several deteriorated concrete streets and mitigate existing drainage issues on the Balboa Peninsula. These residential streets included Anade Avenue, Montero Avenue, Alvarado Place, and 6th Street. The project consisted of removing and reconstructing concrete pavement, reprofiling of curb and sidewalks, new storm drain system, landscaping, and reconstruction of existing curb ramps for compliance with ADA standards.

Portions of the existing sidewalk on Anade Avenue and Montero Avenue were below the top of curb elevation, and improvements on private properties were required to construct the new sidewalk at the top of curb elevation. Cannon researched utility lines located within the four streets, including water, gas, sewer, electrical, and telecommunication lines, and prepared a utility coordination log. Cannon also provided a topographic map, base mapping and field review, hydrology and hydraulics study, preparation of construction documents and plans, and construction support services.
