Pump Station Design

Suburban Water Systems (SWS) was in the process of designing a new pump station at their plant and requested Cannon provide the electrical, mechanical, structural, landscape architectural, and instrumentation and controls design to complete their vision. Cannon designed a pump building to house three 125 horsepower vertical turbine pumps; the electrical distribution system; and to include a conference room, office, and bathroom for staff use. Cannon prepared a backup power plan using an emergency diesel generator and automatic transfer switch. The backup power system was designed to provide power for each of the three pumps, the low voltage power, and the SCADA system. Cannon prepared calculations, design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for permitting, bidding, and construction. Cannon also provided construction management and engineering support during the construction phase of the project. Because the project was fast-tracked, Cannon made some required design changes during the permitting process, per local permitting agency request.
