Greenfield Park Improvements

The City of Irvine emphasized the importance of open space and parks in the Portola Springs developments. One of these, Greenfield Park, offers residents a lap pool, spa, shade structures, playground, barbecue and picnic area, half basketball court, and tennis courts.

Cannon was selected to provide civil engineering design and construction administration services for the park. The scope involved preparation of a precise grading plan, including storm drain, sewer, water, recycled water, and erosion control. Cannon processed plans to approval with the City and Irvine Ranch Water District.

Construction administration services included a pre-construction meeting, field meetings, responding to RFIs, shop drawing submittal reviews, plan revisions during construction, review of contractor’s change order requests, preparation of quantity and cost estimates, certifications and verification, and as-built record drawings.

Cannon worked closely with the City and design team on this “fast track” project. Design was completed in five months and construction phase completed in less than four months. Cannon responded to most RFIs and shop drawing submittals within 24 hours.
