L.A. Metro Union Station

To meet long-term rail needs, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority improved the Los Angeles Metro Link Union by expanding the high-speed rail project through downtown Los Angeles. Cannon was selected to provide right-of-way and civil engineering support services.

Cannon’s surveying and mapping team provided field and office expertise to develop the base mapping for right-of-way engineering. To do this, Cannon assembled nearly 150 years of record maps and deeds through a large quantity of expensive and historic real estate.

As part of the project, Cannon surveyed dozens of high traffic intersections to locate record monumentation and boundary control and resolve hundreds of historical and legal references underlying the project. Additionally, Cannon provided site-specific topography to support the engineering design efforts for this project.
