Magic Mountain 42-inch Diameter Pipeline Phases 4, 5, and 6A

As part its capital improvement program, Santa Clarita Valley Water (SCV Water) needed to construct new pipelines to connect the existing Magic Mountain Pipeline to the future Magic Mountain Reservoir in the Mission Village development.

The Magic Mountain Pipeline Project involved phased pipeline extensions based on the development’s road construction schedule. These included the following:

  • 2,400 feet of 42-inch diameter pipeline and 40 feet of 24-inch diameter pipeline (Phase 4)
  • 2,900 feet of 42-inch diameter pipeline (Phase 5)
  • 3,290 linear feet of 42-inch diameter pipeline, three-valve vaults, and two precast manway structures (Phase 6A)

Cannon was selected to provide construction management and inspection/testing services for the project, including review of submittals, billing, and as-built drawing; requests for information; on-site observation; weekly progress meetings; and final punch list assistance. We maintained project documents using Procore construction software. Cannon’s project team coordinated with the developer team and the contractor to confirm that underground vault structures were properly constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications.
