Wastewater Treatment Plant 48-inch Interceptor Sewer Main Design

With the City of Delano experiencing modest growth over a period of ten years, the City completed a Collections System Master Plan, including recommendations for several major upgrades.

Cannon was selected to provide engineering design services for 5,420 linear feet of parallel 48-inch trunk line, including two junction structures and seven manholes upstream of the wastewater plant. The City also wanted to retain the use of the existing 36-inch VCP trunk sewer; therefore, Cannon provided engineering services for removal and replacement of seven manholes along its alignment. The work also included the design of a lined, emergency overflow pond capable of retaining five million gallons of raw sewage during a major plant upset.
