Valentine’s fundraiser spreads global love

02/18/2020

San Luis Obispo – February 18, 2020 – For the eighth year in a row, volunteers and local businesses such as Popolo Catering and Lucy’s Coffee participated with Cannon’s Well Worth It Campaign to serve up a hearty Valentine’s-themed pancake breakfast. This sweet start to the morning was hosted in an effort to raise funds and awareness to help end the global water crisis.

“This was our best Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser so far,” announced Liz Moody, one of the founders and Chair of the Well Worth It Campaign. “2020 marks the tenth anniversary since we started the Campaign. Seeing how the community came together to help raise $1,800 towards clean water projects was truly inspiring!”

Popolo’s Catering and Lucy’s Coffee generously donated the food and coffee for the event, while employees and local community members volunteered to set up and serve at the fundraising event.

Beyond raising funds for clean water projects in developing countries, the event provides an opportunity for neighbors to meet in a fun and festive environment while learning more about water scarcity and how to help end the global water crisis.

More about Cannon’s Well Worth It Campaign:
Since the inception of Well Worth It in 2010, Cannon has helped raised more than $140,000 to build more than 20 wells and fund a drilling rig. The firm has partnered with the organization “charity: water” to help serve more than 5,000 people with safe, clean drinking water.

Clean water gives children in developing nations the opportunity to attend school and get an education. With education, communities can raise strong leaders, making it possible to break the cycle of poverty and allow future generations to improve their quality of life.
