Fundraising efforts pursued by Cannon’s Well Worth It Campaign are yielding big results. With more than $30,000 raised since December of 2010, the Campaign has funded five wells and a drilling rig.

Having helped fund the rig at the end of 2011—along with more than 1,100 other campaigns—the $1.2m machine is able to drill 80 wells every year. With plans to provide access to clean water over all of Northern Ethiopia, the rig has already drilled more than 20 wells in the province of Tigray since it became operational in late February of 2012.

The individually funded wells through the Campaign are located in other parts of Ethiopia, and Cannon’s newest well is slated for completion in March of 2013 in Malawi.
