2014 Mojave Death Race Revival
Loose Cannons Prepare to Take on the Heat – Again
May 31st-June 1st 2014
Cannon team members are nearing their final stages of preparation to compete in this year’s Mojave Death Race. Considered one of the most arduous relay races for teams of 12, 8, or 6, the Death Race draws participants seeking to test their physical and mental endurance on 24 legs of running, mountain biking, or road cycling. More than 250 miles are traversed in a 24-hour period along the scorching expanse of the Mojave National Preserve. The race begins (and ends) in Nipton, California near the California/Nevada state line at 5:00am, continuing without pause until the course is complete. Teams stagger the race in various stages of difficulty that range from a minimum of six miles of running to 42 miles of road bicycling.
Cannon has participated in the Mojave Death Race several times, but returns now after several years of hiatus to challenge the course and beat the extremes once more. Team members are counting down the days until confronting this tough trial of survival and fortitude, but with the support of friends, family, and coworkers, they won’t have to face it alone.
