Way to Go “Loose Cannon” SLO Triathletes!
San Luis Obispo, July 28, 2019—The City of San Luis Obispo’s Parks and Recreation Department celebrated its annual triathlon for the 40th year. Our very own “Loose Cannons” were ready with their swimsuits, bike gear, and running shoes to start the race and represent the fun, active spirit of Cannon!
The short course, designed to promote completion rather than competition, encouraged novices and experienced triathletes alike to reach their personal goals while having fun. Starting at Sinsheimer Park, the SLO triathlon consisted of a half-mile pool swim, 15-mile bike ride south along Orcutt road, and a 3.1-mile run along the Railroad Recreational Trail.
Loose Cannon triathletes worked up a sweat along the course and finished strong back at the park to take advantage of the food trucks and hydration stations. A Cannon booth was set up to greet participants behind the finish line, offering an array of swag goodies like water bottles, t-shirts, and more.
Over the last 15 years, Cannon has been a proud a proud sponsor of the SLO Tri! Supporting events such as this instills Cannon’s values of community engagement and healthy lifestyles.
