2026 Annual Coaster Ride Takes on Big Sur

10/13/2026

The Cannon Coasters are back at it! This year, Cannon’s group of cycling enthusiasts took on one of California’s most scenic stretches of coastline, traveling approximately 150 miles along Highway 1 through Big Sur. The annual ride brought together Cannon staff, friends, and family for another adventure filled with challenging terrain, coastal views, and camaraderie.

The adventure began at Marina State Beach, where the Coasters kicked off their journey with a roughly 40-mile ride to Big Sur River Inn, where they spent their first night. The following day, riders continued south along Highway 1, covering approximately 75 miles to Cambria Pines Lodge. The final 35-mile stretch brought the group back to San Luis Obispo, completing their coastal journey.

This year’s route took the Coasters through Big Sur, a stretch of California coastline known for its winding roads, steep climbs, and breathtaking ocean views. With challenging terrain and plenty of miles to cover, the ride offered another opportunity for the group to push their limits while enjoying the scenery and spending time together.

Cannon Coasters is an offshoot of Loose Cannons, an in-house group of staff members and their friends and family who participate in extreme sports and recreational activities together. Along with the annual Cannon Coaster Ride, other events they take on include the California Death Ride and Mojave Death Race.

Each year, the Cannon Coasters set out to explore new stretches of California’s coastline, taking on new challenges and making memories along the way. Stay tuned for details about the 2027 ride!
