Cannon’s Public Infrastructure Director, Larry Kraemer, recently received the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) Santa Barbara Chapter award for Engineer of the Year. Bobbie Martin, General Manager of the Santa Ynez Community Services District, nominated Larry in recognition of his outstanding services as District Engineer. Qualities Bobbie used to introduce Mr. Kraemer included integrity, trustworthiness, honesty, and cost-consciousness.

Cannon has been the District Engineer for the Santa Ynez Community Services District since 2004 with Larry as the project manager and main contact for the contract. Mr. Kraemer has provided engineering planning, design, and oversight of the day-to-day technical issues that occur as part of operating a wastewater treatment plant and collection system. He also participates in administrative details including budgeting and cost sharing, as well as coordination with the City of Solvang, the Chumash tribe, and residents of Santa Ynez.

Larry’s background as an engineer includes 27 years of experience in construction management and civil engineering within both the public and private sectors. Now entering his sixth year as Cannon’s Director of Public Infrastructure, Larry provides a senior level of technical knowledge and project understanding to the Cannon team. He has served as a Senior Engineer and Principal-in-Charge for complex civil engineering projects dealing with water resources, wastewater, transportation, schools, and land development.

His duties and responsibilities as Director include technical oversight of design, construction, and master planning projects, as well as construction contract administration and management for bridges, pipelines, dams, wells, and pump stations. Mr. Kraemer is adept at managing challenging or complex projects due to his astute troubleshooting skills, keen attention to detail, and innovative approach to efficient design.
