George Jurica Awarded ASCE OC Lifetime Achievement Award

On February 27, Cannon’s very own George Jurica, PE was awarded with the American Society of Civil Engineers, Orange County Branch with the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. Due to a previously scheduled trip, George was unable to attend the awards ceremony so his daughter, Marina Jurica-Preston, and son, Gregory Jurica, accepted the award on his behalf. With more than 45 years of experience providing thoughtful engineering solutions to clients throughout Southern California, George has certainly earned this honored award. During his professional career, he began PENCO Engineering which recently merged with Cannon; worked on notable projects such as Downtown Disney Entertainment Center, Port of Long Beach Improvements, the Platinum Triangle Development in Anaheim, Link Union Station in Los Angeles, and the Regional Fire Operations and Training Center in Irvine.

He is a very active member and Board Member of various professional organizations including APWA-SoCal and ASCE-OC. Adding to his most recent Lifetime Achievement Award, George has received several others throughout his professional career including, 2013 Private Sector Leader of the Year for APWA – SoCal; 2003 Private Sector Engineer of the Year for ASCE-LA; 2003 Distinguished Engineer of the Year for the OC Engineering Council; and 2001 Civil Engineer of the Year ASCE-OC.
