21st Street Green and Complete Street project highlighted in international design standards guide book
The City of Paso Robles is reaching international acclaim with the inclusion of their 21st Street Green and Complete Street Improvements Project within NACTO’s latest publication: Global Street Design Guide. This book is the first of its kind, providing design standards for safer streets, multi-modal capability, and sustainability. Featured in the “Streets to Streams” section of the Guide, the 21st Street case study offers thoughtful design that incorporates stormwater solutions that mimic nature while providing function to pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.
According to NACTO staff, the 21st Street case study garnered a lot of interest internationally since they began working on their program NACTO is providing design assistance to at least three international cities (and possibly up to 10) to help implement transformative transportation projects around the globe; an inspiring program, and one that enjoys the new exhibition of Paso Robles’ pioneering street project.
