After 13 Years, Relay for Life Runs Strong

05/07/2013

Since their first production in 2000, Bakersfield Relay for Life has raised awareness and funds to fight cancer. Once again, Cannon participated in this year’s event and the team rallied on May 4th.

Bakersfield hosts the largest Relay in the world, and is recognized for record fundraising amounts and for having the largest number of event participants. Not only has Bakersfield set the bar for other cities, states and even countries, but for years they have consistently exceeded all Relay standards.  In effort to continuously grow and improve, Bakersfield is now setting standards for Relay events worldwide.

Having helped raise more than $397,000 to the American Cancer Society, Cannon has been a supporter of the organization. As they continue to raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society, Cannon was a “Championship Series” sponsor of the API/Black Gold Productions Relay for Life Relay Team this year!

The San Joaquin Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute (API) has formed an alliance with Black Gold Productions, a non-profit theater organization, to raise money for the American Cancer Society and the API Scholarship Fund.

The Cannon API/Black Gold team vigorously worked to raise funds in support of the team and the organization, helping celebrate those who have battled and won, and remember those who we have lost in the fight against cancer.
